  3. Activity- Write a Haiku on Internment. Looked at 4 paintings depicting scenes about Japanese American Interment. Pick one and write a Haiku about it. The paintings are the last 4 slides of today's power point. For each painting took notes about what you feel, hear, smell, and see. Haiku is due on Thursday.
  4. Worked on C level tasks.

The semester is coming to an end very quickly. All missing work for the Great Depression unit is due by 3 p.m. on June 5th. Final exams are June 11th, 12th, and 15th.

  2. Activity- Create a KWL chart for the 1920s. Divide your paper into 3rds, label the column on the left 'K', the middle column 'W', and the right column 'L'. In the K column write everything you know or think you know about the 1920s. In the W column write what you would like to know about the 20s. The 'L' column will be filled out at the end of the unit.

  • Your A level task was due today. No exceptions.
  • There will be a notebook check the day of the final. Make sure you bring it with you because you won't be allowed into the halls during class time.

  • Remember you have until 3:30 p.m. tomorrow to turn in any missing work from this 6 week grading period. Any thing from the Progressive Era or Imperialism packets. The only assignment you can turn in on Monday is your A level from this unit. If you have questions or concerns about this please talk to me ASAP.
  • Final Exams will start on Tuesday. Each period will be 90 minutes long. During finals you are not allowed to leave the room so make sure you are ready to be in the classroom for that long. Bring extra work to do, a book to read, etc.
  • On Monday we will spend time talking about the final and reviewing the material.

Welcome back!

Due to the week off because of the weather and then winter vacation I decided to postpone the Progressive Era test to Thursday.

So today we began the last unit of this semester, Imperialism. Due dates are as follows:
  • C Level- January 14th and no oral defenses
  • B Level- January 21st
  • A Level- January 26th

All late work is due by 3:3o p.m. on January 22nd.

The district has decided to extend 1st semester by a week so finals will now be January 27th-30th. 5th and 6th period's final will be the 29th and 8th period's will be the 30th.

On the day of our final we will have a notebook check. The final exam will cover the entire semester with an emphasis on Imperialism.
