Tuesday, September 30th

  2. Geography Test- if you missed it you need to make arrangements with me to get it made up ASAP
  3. Finished the 5 Themes of Geography Analysis of Sprague activity. Turned in group map and individual analysis. You need to have a cover page and turn in your field notes with your analysis paper.

** Remember this 6 week grading period ends next week so if you are missing any assignments they need to be turned in by 3p.m. Friday, October 3rd.

  2. Analyzing Sprague using the 5 Themes of Geography
  • Walk around campus and sketch a map of campus and take "field notes" about what you see
  • Write a analysis of the campus using the 5 Themes
  • Introduction- Location
  • Body paragraphs- place, human environment interaction, and movement
  • Conclusion- regions
  • Turning in a cover page, field notes, map, and analysis paper
  • Due Tuesday September 30th
Geography Test on Tuesday the 30th-- make sure to bring a pencil

  3. Everyone presented the climate information about their city

  2. Discussed and then turned in both Population Density maps
  3. Climograph Activity
    1. Look at the Climograph for Minneapolis and make a list of what you see.
    2. What Can You Say About the Climate of These Cities- pick one of the 5 cities to answer the questions
    3. Pick One of the cities from Climographs of Places in Africa list and research the data needed to complete a climograph (use the link to the World Climate page on the left)
    4. Make a climograph of that city- we just got to this point in class

Thursday, September 18th

  1. Daily Opener
  2. Turned in Latitude and Longitude of the NFL activity
  3. Activity- Population Density maps of the United States. Make two maps of the population density of the U.S. One map will be of states below 80/sq. mile or above 80/sq. mile. The 2nd map will have 5 categories:
  • less than 80/sq. mile
  • 80-150
  • 150-290
  • 290-570
  • 570 and above
  • Make sure to make a map key. You do not have to label the states.
  • See the links on the right to access blank maps and the Census Bureau
  • Due on Monday
