Thursday, February 28th

  1. Took World War I/Russian Revolution Test- if you were absent you need to either arrange a time with me to make it up or take it during study hall.
  2. Due: Russian Revolution Worksheet
  3. Assignment: Chapters 13 and 14 Vocabulary.

** Don't forget the end of the 6 weeks is next week and any missing work is due by 3:30 p.m. on March 6th.

Tuesday, February 26th

  1. Presented Russian Revolution Timelines.
  2. Worked on Part 4 of the Russian Revolution Worksheet from Friday. It's due on Thursday.
  3. Studied for the test. I gave everyone a 3x5 card to use for notes on the test. Remember you can only handwrite the information, no typing. Test is Thursday. Make sure to bring a #2 pencil.

*I posted grades for your B and A level work and handed it back. If it had a note about re-doing it for credit you need to get it turned in by March 6th.
**If you haven't turned in either your B or A level tasks they are due by March 6th. They're late but still worth points. I won't accept them after the 6th.

*** The 1st 6 weeks is over March 6th. I won't accept any work from this 6 weeks after 4 p.m. on March 6th.

Friday, February 22nd

  1. Shared World War I monument designs.
  2. Began Russian Revolution Activity. You'll need the following handouts to complete Parts One and Three. You'll need to see me to watch the video needed for Part Two. We will be doing Part Four in class on Tuesday.
  3. Handed out the study guide for Thursday's test. I'll let you know on Tuesday the make-up of the test and if you get to use a notecard.

  1. PPT- Global Peacemaker
  2. World War I Monument Design Activity- we discussed monuments, looked at a PowerPoint showing examples. Your task is to design a World War I monument that will be placed on the National Mall in Washington D.C.

**A level task was due today. If you were absent you need to turn it in on Friday or you will get Homework Club.

*** I moved your test from the 26th to the 28th. The study guide will be available in class on Friday and on the blog tomorrow.

Wednesday, February 12th

  1. Discussed the answers to the Q Notes from Monday's class.
  2. Worked with a partner to do the Americans on the Home Front Connections Chart and then we discussed the answers as a class.

** B level task was due today! Everyone who got Homework Club for not turning it in has until Friday the 15th to get it done and not go to Homework Club.

*** A level task is due the 20th!

  1. Finished World War I propaganda activity and discussed the answers- keep it in your notebook. There will likely be a question on the unit test about the objectives and tools.
  2. World War I battle research- we broke into groups and I assigned each group a battle to research and we will share that on Monday. See information below for which battles we are researching and what topics to research.

Welcome to 2nd Semester!

  1. Went over new syllabus- must have it signed and turned in on Tuesday the 5th.
  2. Worked in small groups and read handout about causes of WWI stalemate.
  3. Experienced trench warfare.
