Wednesday, May 28th

  1. Japanese Relocation Centers activity- read various documents and answered questions on a worksheet.
  2. Japanese American Internment Haikus- looked at 4 paintings depicting the internment experience. Assignment is to write a haiku using one of the paintings for inspiration. You haiku should have 2 illustrations. Due on Friday.

Wednesday, May 21st

  1. Worked on the World War II textbook packet from Monday, due today but I'll still accept it on Friday.
  2. Watching video- The Century: Homefront and did a study guide. Turned it in.

** We only have 5 more days of class before the final exam. The last couple of assignments have been very large so make sure you're getting everything turned in. Please come and talk to me if you have any questions or concerns.

  1. Finished Out of the Dust and turned in questions.
  2. Turned in chapters 17 and 18 vocabulary, see Wednesday's post for the words.
  3. Activity: World War II terms- skits and pictowords. Nothing to be made up.
  4. Assignment: Notes on Dictators. See below for directions. Due on Tuesday.

Read in Chapter 17 Section 1 about

Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Adolf Hitler, and Francisco Franco.

· Take notes on all four.

· Include nicknames and why they earned the nickname(s), countries they are associated with, how they treat people, what do they stand for, what are their goals, anything they have written, the kind of government they have set up or wish to set up, results of things they have done, basically everything you can about them.

· You are to become an expert on these three. Use pages 568 to 574.

At the beginning of next class you may use your notes on a quiz over them.
